Contrave

Contrave

Can you imagine losing 5% of your body weight in just 14 months, a year and 2 months, 392 days! Let’s do the math here. If you weigh 200 pounds, you will be losing 10 pounds, if you weigh 300 pounds, you could lose 15 pounds, and if you weigh 400 and you are checking out this review, you could lose 20 pounds in the space of about 14 months!

Are you less than enthusiastic right now? I can understand. But that’s what you should expect if you ever use Contrave. Granted your risk is pretty low considering the fact that last time Contrave applied for FDA approval, the company Orexigen was turned down flat. But even if it does come to fruition, 5% of your body weight in over a year? Wow. I thought the idea of dropping soda or alcohol was mild.

But that’s not to say that Contrave is exactly mild in every way. After all, there is a reason why Contrave was the third prescription to be rejected in the past year!

The Dangers of Contrave

Contrave has been used before to treat things like depression and SAD. But it severely increases the chances of seizures, meaning even if you don’t have a seizure disorder or a history of seizures, you could have one after taking Contrave. It has been determined to be unsafe for the heart, and this is why one of its main ingredients was actually withdrawn from the market when it was sold for other purposes.

Technically, Contrave does have 2 ingredients: bupropion and naltrexone. The other has been used to treat addictions and addictive tendencies, and some believe that it would counteract the side effect of the first. But it did not.

Conclusion

Contrave has not been introduced or approved, because it’s not safe. I highly doubt that the FDA will be changing their mind any time soon about that. But if for some reason it does happen, keep in mind the 56 weeks it takes to lose just 5% of your body weight.
