Dexedrine

The desire to lose weight, no matter what it takes, has transcended what I would call common sense. And unfortunately, somewhere along the way, we got the idea that prescriptions like Dexedrine were the only diet pills that actually worked. So we turn to products like Dexedrine that may cause side effects. But who cares, because you’re going to get results! Truth be told, there are quite a few problems with this assumption.
Dexedrine is Not FDA Approved
Dexedrine has been used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy, which is fine. And it is technically an amphetamine, which means that it is similar in structure to a lot of products that have been used to promote weight loss. But it is not FDA approved to promote any weight loss results. Weight loss is still considered to be an off label use.
Dexedrine is Not Clinically Proven
Technically, it is clinically proven to treat ADHD, which is why it is sold as a prescription treatment for ADHD. But nobody has ever conducted any studies to show that Dexedrine promotes any weight loss results. Nobody has actually proven that Dexedrine suppresses appetite (as opposed to eliminating appetite in some patients which can be extremely harmful).
Dexedrine is Proven to Have Extremely Harsh Side Effects
A lot of prescriptions have gotten comfortable. The FDA turns down weight loss drugs every year, citing too many dangers and side effects, only mild or debatable benefits at best, and all of the other things that could be used to describe many of the most popular prescriptions. But because nobody has ever retested most popular prescriptions, those prescriptions remain in circulation while others are never allowed onto the market at all. Dexedrine is the perfect example of this, and reintroducing it as an official weight loss drug would put sales at risk.
What Do the Experts Think?
I’ve seen mixed expert reviews on Dexedrine. Some seem to believe that Dexedrine is worth looking into. But all seem to agree that the clinical studies and other solid evidence could be stronger. And everybody seems to agree that at the very least, Dexedrine is not for everybody with all of its side effects.
