GE Pharma Firestorm

Firestorm is one of GE Pharma’s weight loss supplements that promise to be able to bring the heat to the diet industry by packing their products so full of powerful ingredients that they promise you will notice the amazing results within one hour of taking their pill.

Some of these results include “massive increases in endurance, increases in your body’s thermogenic metabolism and a huge energy burst.” These claims definitely caught our attention enough to do a little research to see if any of this has been proven to be true.

The Good

Firestorm definitely does not hold back when it comes to including ingredients that are known for their potency and ability to affect the body. With 25 mg of ephedra, Firestorm is definitely testing the body’s limits. Before the year 2000, it was illegal to have any dose of ephedra larger than 4 mg, meaning that Firestorm’s dose would have been more than six times the legal limit.

The Bad

Although doses that large of ephedra aren’t illegal now, they still haven’t been proven to be safe. Even GE Pharma realizes that and so they have had to put a disclaimer on their warning label, stating that anyone who ingests more than the allotted dose of Firestorm should contact a physician or poison control immediately.

Not only does Firestorm contain huge amounts of ephedra, but it also contains a whopping dose of caffeine. With 255 mg per dose, it is bound to cause effects of nervousness, irritability, sleeplessness and even abnormal heart rhythms.

The Skinny

Even though we can’t help but be slightly impressed by Firestorm’s ability to toe the line on what kind of stress the body is capable of enduring, we can’t say that we agree with their extreme measures. There are other supplements out there that will bring you results without all the unnecessary stress on your body.
