HCG Platinum Maintain
HCG Platinum Maintain is a new HCG based product claiming to make a 500 calorie diet “more bearable.” Ya…….last time we went on a 500 calorie diet, wait we didn’t. Experts recommend eating at least 1200 calories, and less than something like 600 calories is considered an eating disorder. What about the last few words screams healthy or sustainable?
But point being, regardless of what we say about the diet, HCG Platinum Maintain is supposed to be the magic bullet that somehow makes it healthy….or at least not as miserable as it’s bound to be if you try to do it on your own. Theoretically, it would also prevent weight rebound that is fad dieting. But let’s find out a little more about the hormone behind it.
What is HCG?
HCG is a diet based on the idea of supplementing your body with a pregnancy hormone. Let us state the obvious for a moment. Pregnant women GAIN weight, and they typically spend quite a while trying to take it off once they give birth. There’s even a disorder where women’s bodies think that they are pregnant, and despite the absence of a fetus, they still gain weight, creating a belly bulge, even experiencing morning sickness!
But the HCG diet claims that this is all a fluke, and if you just follow their 500 calorie diet in short cycles, you will lose up to 1 pound per day. Again, we’ll state the obvious. A healthy diet requires anywhere from 1200 to 1800 calories for most people. If you’re only eating 500 calories, you should be losing a lot more than 1 pound per day! But while you can assess the HCG diet time and time again, hoping it will change, the good news is that HCG Platinum Maintain does not use HCG. It does require a 500 calorie diet. But the formula has nothing to do with HCG. Instead, they use homeopathic medicine.
The Homeopathic Scam
Homeopathy is a funny thing. It has been used for pain relief, cold and flus, allergies, and the treatment of just about everything under the sun. But they make these supplements by taking a small solution of active ingredients and diluting it in 100X its weight in water. They do this over and over again. Put 2 and 2 together, you can guarantee they don’t have anything but water. Many consumers like the idea of it being “safe and natural” as they explain it. But while it may be safe, there are no amazing fat burning properties with water.
