Hungry Girl Diet

Welcome to Hungry Girl Diet, the diet where you get to eat the foods you love and still lose weight! It sounds amazing doesn’t it? And if you had an incredibly fast metabolism…..or a disease, that might be true. Last time I checked, I didn’t have the metabolism of a cheetah, and somehow I don’t think you do either. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be looking for extra help in losing weight. Am I right?

But haven’t we learned our lesson by now? As a society, we’ve run through enough prepackaged diet plans that we should know! Kirstie Alley for example lost a bunch of weight on Jenny Craig. But then she gained it all back and created her own prepackaged diet plan that supposedly tasted better and “lasted longer.” A prepackaged diet plan is a prepackaged diet plan, and a diet like Hungry Girl Diet that tells us eat whatever you want, just eat it this way, is always bound to be the same.

The Hungry Girl Diet Pattern

Hungry Girl Diet is no exception to this rule. Sorry to disappoint all of you believers. For example, if you want to go out, good luck. The Hungry Girl Diet doesn’t actually teach you anything about healthy living or dieting! So while I may go out and know that the spaghetti squash is probably better than a salad because that restaurant uses higher calorie ingredients in the salad and few vegetables, somebody on the Hungry Girl Diet would not necessarily know that.

Yes, the Hungry Girl Diet gives you plenty of recipes to replace the takeout you love. But I like going out with friends, I like going out to a restaurant now and then without having to worry about which choice is better and which is which. And frankly, if you order things that look like what the Hungry Girl Diet suggests, I can guarantee you won’t be doing yourself any favors.

Long Term Hungry Girl Diet

If you wanted to follow the Hungry Girl Diet for the rest of your life, you probably could. You could take the book on vacation with you and cook all of your meals like you do at home. You could avoid ever going out, and it’s a lot cheaper than prepackaged options. But considering human nature, it’s highly unlikely.

The Skinny

If you want to get skinny, it’s probably best not to use the Hungry Girl Diet. Well, you might get skinny at first. But once you check back into what I like to refer to as the “real world”, it’s not as appealing as it may have once been. The Hungry Girl Diet is extremely unrealistic, and you would be better off with something else.
