Hydroxytrol
Hydroxytrol has been described as the ultimate product, bringing ephedrine back for the low price of $59.99! Since when was that a low price? Anyway, Hydroxytrol comes with a lot of disclaimers (from the sites that sell it), and clearly, companies have reason to worry. Nobody wants to be sued for using ephedrine….again, even though it is technically legal. Ironically, ephedrine doesn’t promote weight loss anymore, which leads me to take a closer look at the other ingredients instead.
The Ingredients in Hydroxytrol
Ephedra extract – You really can’t miss the history behind ephedrine. It has become known for some pretty amazing results AND some pretty scary side effects. But when it was rereleased, government officials made it illegal to use more than 25mg, which is about 1/10 of the amounts clinically proven to promote weight loss.
Guarana extract – Guarana has been used by some as a popular energy supplement. But as it turns out, studies prove that it doesn’t actually help you to lose weight.
L-carnitine – L-carnitine has been pushed as a treatment for everything under the sun. But it has never actually been proven to do anything.
White willow bark – White willow bark has been used as a natural anti-inflammatory, but not a weight loss supplement.
Chromium – Chromium has been used to control natural blood sugar. But that only helps to control cravings. It doesn’t increase metabolism or burn fat.
The Skinny
Hydroxytrol promises to be the ultimate diet pill, and it downplays the fact that it has ephedra, even though technically, that’s the only weight loss ingredient in the whole blend! But of course, any ephedrine product is almost guaranteed to fail, and Hydroxytrol is certainly no exception to that rule.
