LeptinX

LeptinX is a weight loss supplement that is marketed by Vitamin Research Products, although it is not manufactured by them. LeptinX is supposed to be able to help you eat less by lowering your leptin levels and thus decreasing your appetite.
This seems to be contrary to what most people know about leptin, however. Leptin is a hormone that is responsible for inhibiting your appetite, and the absence of leptin causes uncontrolled food intake. But LeptinX is working on a theory that relies on a little more recent research.
Scientists have recently found that obese people ironically have very large amounts of leptin in their bloodstream, and appetites that are even larger still. This led them to draw the conclusion that obese people must have some sort of resistance to the effects of leptin on the brain—much like the resistance to insulin found in those with Type II Diabetes.
LeptinX is trying to lower these abnormally high levels of leptin, hoping that this will decrease the level of resistance eventually.
Does It Live Up To The Hype?
Although it sounds like an interesting experiment, there has not been any scientific proof that this will work. Not only that, but there is nothing in LeptinX’s system that would lead us to believe they could do anything to either lower or raise the levels of Leptin in the body.
From looking at their website, the only ingredients we can see are dietary fiber and tapioca. Not exactly a formula that suggests a lot of scientific theory. They do have a proprietary blend that is kept secret; no doubt because it does not reveal anything positive.
Does It Have Any Redeeming Qualities?
Even if LeptinX won’t do anything positive for you, we didn’t find any ingredients that looked like they would be downright bad for you.
