Nuphedrine is a weight loss supplement that claims to have harnessed the power of the two strongest and amazing ingredients that can be found outside of the world of prescription diet aids. These two ingredients are Advantra-Z and Hoodia Gordonii.

Nuphedrine markets itself to be a side effect free product made with only quality ingredients and no fillers. Nuphedrine says that, when used properly, their product can cause up to 500 more calories to burn from your body without the need for diet and exercise. This product costs about $29.99.

The Good

Advantra-Z is an ingredient that has shown some promise in studies that have been conducted on it. It is composed of bitter orange extract and also contains the chemical compound synephrine which has been hailed as ephedra’s “chemical cousin.” If synephrine can deliver the same results as ephedra that would be quite a boon as, prior to it becoming a banned substance, ephedra was all the rage in the weight loss world.

The Bad

There is a chance that supplements using Advantra-Z or any compound which has synephrine will be banned by the FDA in the near future, especially if it is as similar to ephedra as it boasts of being. Hoodia Gordonii is a completely useless ingredient that has shown no aptitude for appetite control and we continue to be perplexed by its unwarranted fame. Hoodia has been connected with liver disease by some scientists. Further aggravating the issue of hoodia is the fact that this plant has been banned from exportation from its native South Africa. So how is anyone getting this ingredient anyway?

The Skinny

Nuphedrine isn’t completely upfront with potential consumers about amounts and the ingredients are shifty at best. Advantra-Z has some potential as a weight loss agent but it also has some potential to become a banned substance and cause harm to your body. Hoodia is utilized for its namesake alone and that is not a confidence builder for a new customer. Overall we remain unconvinced of this product’s power. We do not recommend Nuphedrine at this time.
