Phendimetrazine
Whenever I think about prescriptions like Phendimetrazine, (beyond the fact that Phendimetrazine is a prescription), it all sounds like one excessively cruel joke to me. As a prescription, you have to be obese to get it. I believe you have to have a BMI over 35 and a waist circumference over a certain number.
But you also have to have normal cholesterol and blood pressure levels, you cannot have diabetes, you cannot have a thyroid disorder, you cannot have a history of depression, mental illness, or addictive tendencies, and oh yeah, you can’t have any medical disorder commonly associated with obesity, nor can you be on any medications to control those conditions. So if you have healthy cholesterol levels because you happen to be taking medications for it, you still can’t take Phendimetrazine. The joke’s not over yet.
You Can Only Take Phendimetrazine for a Few Weeks
This is not just me talking, it’s doctors, professionals, and researchers who have spent their lives studying prescriptions like Phendimetrazine. Most people think of a diet pill as something that you can take to help you to lose weight, ideally for as long as you need to. Patients are only allowed to take Phendimetrazine for a few, and I do mean just a few, weeks at a time, and ironically, it’s not because of the side effects. Phendimetrazine actually stops working after a few weeks. So it wouldn’t do you any good to keep trying, unless you want to experience more side effects and possibly gain all of the weight and then some back. And the studies just make it worse.
The Studies Are Not That Great
You would think that being FDA approved and all, Phendimetrazine would have to spend millions of dollars to complete extensive studies to prove that Phendimetrazine is both relatively safe and beneficial. Technically, makers of Phendimetrazine did spend millions……on a couple of studies. But like a lot of other prescriptions, the results weren’t actually that great, maybe a few pounds in a few weeks.
There are plenty of studies that show the side effects of Phendimetrazine ranging from ischemia to rhabdomyolysis (the sudden and complete breakdown and deterioration of the skeletal system). It’s pretty scary actually. But nobody has conducted a study on the weight loss benefits of Phendimetrazine since the late 1950’s.
The Skinny
Don’t feel bad if you fell for all the hype. I know a lot of smart people who took Phendimetrazine, accepting some pretty nasty side effects, because we are taught to believe that prescriptions are the only safe AND effective way to lose weight (ephedra didn’t help and most of us didn’t think about the fact that fen phen was actually two prescriptions). I know a lot of smart people who believe a lot of stupid things.
But you don’t have to suffer the consequences of all of these misconceptions. I can tell you right now that most prescriptions are made up of similar amphetamines. So you should probably stay away. The only one that’s not is Orlistat, the main ingredient in Alli, and we all know what that does….think sudden and embarrassing diarrhea. To be on the safe side, just cut out prescription weight loss aids!
I've been making my own diet pgoarrm and I know it's unhealthy. I only eat once a day around 4pm or 5 pm and most of them are less than 1000 cal and sometimes less than 500 cal. The results was amazing, my waist dropped from 44 inches to 31 inches and it took me only about 3 months. However, it hit me the other day when I knew something wasn't right. It was a mess, it scared the hell out of me. I swear I thought I'm going to get a stroke or major heart-attack. Now, I'm trying to let go of this unhealthy diet and back to being chunky and happy, instead of Skinny and miserable. But, I still can't let go of this diet, I'm so hooked. Whenever I eat a large portion of food I start to feel guilty and the diet card plays again. I'm back to square one. Is there a medication to boost my crave on eating or any tips for me to start eating 5 times a day.
