Awe-Slim is a nutritional supplement brought you by NOW®. This manufacturer produces many essential oils, and other nutritional supplements, and is a fairly reputable company. This particular product is marketed for weight loss because of its ability to maintain lean muscle mass. Lean muscle mass is important for fat burning, and is also essential for long-term weight loss. Awe-Slim is actually a collagen based formula that is supposed to help you replace lost collagen in order to keep you from losing muscle. Let’s take a closer look to see if this can lead to weight loss.
The Good
Awe-Slim contains Super citrimax which is essentially garcinia cambogia. In a study done by Georgetown University Medical Center is was shown that this ingredient is actually effective in helping increase the ability of calcium and magnesium to bond to HCA which may help to maintain connective tissue and lean muscle mass. It also contains conjugated linoleic acid which has been shown to reduce fat and preserve muscle tissue if used in the right amounts.
The Bad
So far this product sounds great. The only problem is that we really don’t know if they ingredients are in the right amounts to be effective. They are contained in a 12.9 g blend so it is really unknown if you’re getting effective amounts within that blend. Even though it contains the above mentioned ingredients, many of its other ingredients are essentially non effective.
The Skinny
There may be some good properties to Awe-Slim if you’re looking to maintain lean muscle mass. Maintaining lean muscle mass is important over time to keep weight off. However, it will not initially help you lose weight unless you are able to increase it. We suggest you look for products that not only maintain lean muscle mass, but also help burn fat.
