Sculpt’N Cleanse Colon Cleansing Formula is one of Health Direct’s colon cleansing products and it claims to be able to pack the punch that most other colon cleansers claim to do, but it also promises to be able to reduce your body weight in such a way that it calls itself the “first step to a better body.”

Pros:

This product does indeed know what the benefits of colon cleansers are and it makes an attempt to claim all of those benefits as their own. Benefits like the elimination of toxins, harmful chemicals, dangerous pollutants and even the poisons that can build up in our bodies. All of these claims are justifiable as a colon cleanser, as it has been shown that our lifestyle of eating more meat and consuming food additives, as well as inhaling car exhaust and general pollution, can have a negative impact as they build up in our bodies and it is beneficial to periodically flush these out.

What has not been proven however, is the claims that Sculpt’N Cleanse will be able to carve a newer, “better body” from the one we’re lugging around right now. The truth is that colon cleansers are not designed to make you lose significant amounts of weight. Any colon cleanser, or laxative for that matter, that is going to make you lose more weight than just water weight and general buildup of the digestive system, is going to do so because you’re going to be too sick to leave the bathroom to eat.

In fact, Sculpt’N Cleanse uses two ingredients, aloe and cascara sagrada, that have been banned by the US Food and Drug Administration in the use of over-the-counter laxatives. They have been found to cause serious abdominal pain and violent diarrhea. Cascara sagrada is even thought to be potentially carcinogenic.
