Skinny Water

Skinny Water is said to help provide the vitamins and minerals needed each day. These naturally flavored waters are advertised to be sugar free, calorie free, and guilt free so you can feel good about incorporating healthier habits in your life.

Containing vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, and anti-oxidants Skinny Water has the potential to keep you nourished even during the toughest workout. But what can you really expect?

What Is Skinny Water Supposed to Be Used For?

Although the Skinny Water manufacturers are quick to point out that it is not a dietary aid, these flavored waters are given names that may entice the average consumer to believe this product is more than just flavored water. Take a look at some of the water names taken right off the official website:

• Hi-Energy (Acai Grape BlueBerry)
• Crave Control (Raspberry Pomegranate)
• Wake-Up (Orange Cranberry Tangerine)
• Fit (Blue Raspberry)
• Shape (Goji Black Cherry)
• Power (Pink Berry Citrus)
• Total-V (Lemonade Passionfruit)

I have to admit, all these flavors sound incredibly appetizing, but I have to wonder if the advertising is going to confuse unsuspecting customers.

When you find water labeled “Crave Control” what do you expect? I anticipate that it will keep me from overeating (one of the reasons I struggle to lose weight!). Similarly, if I use a product labeled “Fit” or “Shape” I anticipate that it will assist me in my workouts.

Again, Skinny Water manufacturers are quick to point out that these are not dietary aids. But it sure seems to me like they are hoping consumers will use their products for more than hydration.

Can Skinny Water Do More?

Nutrients are essential for every bodily process—and they become even more important when you’re trying to build muscle or lose weight. Impressively, Skinny Water includes some of the ingredients you may need.

For example, the Wake-Up blend contains Vitamin C to boost immunity and a B vitamin blend to enhance energy. Others waters contain additional vitamins as well as the antioxidants and minerals that are beneficial to you.

The one drink that still confuses me is the Crave Control Raspberry Pomegranate. Although Skinny Water manufacturer’s claim these products are not designed as dietary aids, the Amazon sales page (which is said to be run by Skinny Water, the manufacturer) specifically says one of the benefits to using this product is that it is “Designed to curb your cravings and aid in weight loss.” To me that sounds like Crave Control is being touted as a dietary aid.

On the positive side, EGCGs from green tea are included in this formula. This ingredient has been shown in clinical trials to assist in weight loss by increasing thermogenesis when adequate amounts are included. Unfortunately, since it is difficult to find any information on Skinny Water, we cannot confirm if Crave Control has adequate amounts of EGCGs.

Is Skinny Water Safe?

As someone who is concerned with preservatives, artificial ingredients, and artificial colors, I am impressed by the primarily natural formula used by Skinny Water. They do not include preservatives or artificial colors. Instead they use the natural dyes from the fruits included in the drinks. However, artificial sweeteners are used.

How Do You Use Skinny Water?

Skinny Water is said to be a “convenient, accessible and flexible way to get the water and nutrients” you need each day (according to the official website). Therefore, it would seem to be a product you could use whenever, wherever in place of soda or other high calorie drinks. If you struggle to enjoy the flavor of water, Skinny Water could help you stay hydrated in a much tastier way!

Skinny Water Price and Guarantee

The cheapest beverage for most people is tap water. But sometimes you want something a little more flavorful so you’re willing to spend a bit more.

The retail price listed on Amazon is $23.88 for a pack of 12 making each bottle $1.99. Since you can get it in grocery stores the price seems to vary but is somewhere around there.

Buying online can, however, get you a better deal. Right now it is just $18.75 for a 12 pack or $1.56 per bottle.

Unfortunately, the official website states “No returns refund for non-delivery or damaged packaging verified by shipper” so if you don’t like it after buying in bulk, you’re out of luck.

Should You Try Skinny Water?

That depends on your goals. If you are simply looking for a tasty, flavored water to hydrate you during your workout, Skinny Water might be just the solution.

Yes, there are nutrients included in this formula and that could be beneficial. But it doesn’t make Skinny Water capable of replacing your daily multivitamin.

I’m still skeptical about the marketing. There is hardly any information available about Skinny Water on the official website. Furthermore, the manufacturers seem to want it to be understood that it is “NOT a dietary aid” and yet the Amazon description states exactly the opposite.

That being said, if you are just looking for a hydrating beverage, Skinny Water may be a good choice and the flavors are praised!
