The New Lifestyle Diet

The New Lifestyle DietMaybe you’re familiar with liquid diets now including The New Lifestyle Diet. The most famous was the Slimfast diet, in part because it was the diet responsible for Oprah’s thinnest stage of life. The world got to see just how small her frame is, and then she ended up gaining it all back in one of her infamous yo-yo dieting stages. Logically, this would make you wonder if the same thing would happen to you when using The New Lifestyle Diet.

Do Liquid Diets Work?

Obviously, liquid diets work. People use them every day. We use protein based meal replacement shakes, we’ve used Slimfast, and some have used cleansing diets made mostly of fruit and vegetable smoothies. Interestingly enough, quite a few dieters have been successful in losing weight AND keeping it off in the future. Both bodybuilders and regular everyday dieters have found this approach to be potentially effective. It just depends on the person. You just have to wonder if The New Lifestyle Diet is one of them.

How The New Lifestyle Diet Works

The New Lifestyle Diet does not actually cleanse the body, it never claims to. The New Lifestyle Diet is more like a diet made up of protein shakes. However, while most use protein shakes (most protein shakes) as a snack or maybe one meal a day, The New Lifestyle Diet suggests that out of the 4-5 meals you eat every day, all but one should be comprised of one of their meal replacement options.

In other words, you spend a lot of money on The New Lifestyle Diet. The only thing that would make you eat more prepackaged meals is a plan like Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem, and those diets focus on solid food, not protein shakes and other liquid options. Liquid diets are definitely effective, in part because your body doesn’t have to spend as much energy trying to digest it, therefore burning more calories with the energy it would’ve used just breaking the food down. The question is just what happens once you’ve lost all of the weight and you don’t want to drink these shakes all the time anymore? What happens when you want normal food?

Is The New Lifestyle Diet Realistic?

That depends on you. Some people have wired their jaws shut for 6 weeks and lost a lot of weight in a short period of time on liquid diets. The general trend is for those people to gain some back until it all evens out after getting their jaws unwired. However, it generally does even out. If you follow a reasonable diet and exercise plan after, we could see the results of The New Lifestyle Diet lasting once your body gets used to eating solid food again, but The New Lifestyle Diet is definitely not for everybody.
