Weight Loss Recipes

Weight Loss RecipesBecause of our diverse modern lifestyle, we all have such different international and ethnic backgrounds, which directly what kind of food we eat.

But just because one person might come from a family that grew up frying everything they ate, or another commonly ate fatty meats for every meal, doesn’t mean that we have to completely abandon our heritage just to incorporate healthy meals into our diets.

In fact, we have put together a list of three things that will help you add a healthy twist to the meals that you have grown up eating, helping you lose weight without changing too many aspects of your lifestyle.

1. Cut Down Quantities

If there’s a certain dish that your mom used to make every Friday that you just could never give up, no matter how bad it is for you, try to limit how much you consume it rather than cutting it out completely.
Rather than eating your grandma’s famous chocolate cake every weekend, cut it down to birthdays or special occasions. Not only will this help you eat less, but you will also learn to treasure that dish more because you associate it with happy times.
If you simply can’t imagine a Sunday without eating Uncle Jack’s delicious fried chicken, make it a side dish rather than an entrée.

2. Incorporate Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

You may have a pasta recipe that is just absolutely killer but you’d rather that you don’t actually have to die by eating it so much.
By filling it with sautéed peppers, steamed zucchini, and roasted eggplant, you’ll find that more of your stomach gets filled with vegetables rather than the high calorie pasta or heavy sauce.
You’ll also find that the vegetables give off enough flavor of their own that you won’t be tempted to add as much flavorful fats or oils into the mix.

3. Eliminate Fat Where You Can

If a recipe calls for ground beef, get the leanest meat that your grocer provides. Although this might seem contrary to what mother taught you about cooking tender meat, remember that if you cook it low and slow even the leanest meat can be tender.

Also, if you’re worried about buying a steak that has less marbling because it won’t have as much flavor, look for a low fat marinade to spice up the flavor as well as enhancing the texture.

If you’ve tried all these things and you still aren’t seeing enough results from eating the foods you love, try looking into some weight loss pills that have been shown to be able to suppress your appetite, increase your metabolism, or even stop your body from digesting fat.
